TORONTO, ON (August 10, 2026) – The Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) is launching a new multi-year awareness campaign to help Canadians better understand the important role workplace health benefits play in supporting their everyday health and wellbeing. The campaign also highlights how everyday moments of care contribute to a stronger health system.
The campaign comes at a time when health care access remains one of the top concerns for Canadians and pressure on the health system continues to grow. As governments and health care leaders look for ways to improve access to care, the campaign will help Canadians better understand the important role workplace health benefits already play in helping millions of people get care sooner, manage their health proactively and stay well.
“Workplace health benefits are an essential part of Canadians’ everyday health. Every day, they help millions of Canadians access the care they need—from prescription drugs and mental health support to dental care and physiotherapy,” says Stephen Frank, President and CEO, CLHIA. “This campaign is about helping Canadians better understand the important role those benefits play in supporting healthier individuals, families and communities.”
For more than 27 million Canadians—roughly 70 per cent of the population—workplace health benefits are an important part of everyday healthcare. Canadians rely on benefits for prescription drugs, dental care, vision care, mental health support, and other paramedical services, such as physiotherapy, chiropractic care or registered massage therapy. In 2024, insurers supported Canadians with $53.3 billion in supplementary health benefits, an 11 percent increase over the previous year.
“When Canadians are able to get care sooner and manage their health proactively, small issues are less likely to become bigger ones,” says Frank. “That helps people stay healthier while also easing pressure on Canada's health care system.”
The campaign features a hero video, digital and social media advertising, and a dedicated landing page designed to help Canadians better understand the value of workplace health benefits and the role they play in everyday health.
