The current prescription drug system in Canada is inequitable to Canadians both in terms of access and price. It is also increasingly being challenged from a financial perspective by the ongoing growth in drug costs. The prescription drug system, therefore, must be fundamentally reformed if it is to serve Canadians well in the long-term. In this regard, the CLHIA's policy paper sets out actionable recommendations to reform prescription drug coverage in Canada.
