CLHIA submission on the development of a model Canadian digital trade agreement

The Government of Canada has started work to develop a model Canadian digital trade agreement. On July 15, Global Affairs Canada launched a consultation inviting views on the potential scope and content in the agreement. The CLHIA shared its views and highlighted two key issues for consideration: (1) the agreement should prohibit data localization requirements; and (2) the agreement should minimize the differences in digital regulation across jurisdictions.
