Submission to the Commission de l’économie et du travail on Bill 68, An Act mainly to reduce the administrative burden of physicians
Release Date: 09/09/2024 Staff Reference: Lyne DuhaimeThe Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association (CLHIA) is pleased to provide feedback as part of the consultation process on Bill 68, which aims to reduce the administrative burden of physicians.
Life and health insurers are heavily invested in the health and well-being of Quebecers through their benefit plans. Our members share the government’s goal of lightening physicians’ administrative workload to improve access to physicians for everyone in the province.
We believe that reducing the administrative burden of physicians is part of the solution to improving the health network’s performance. Over the past few years, the CLHIA and its members launched a number of initiatives to help cut down the amount of time physicians spend on paperwork.
Our submission sets out the industry’s position on the administrative burden of physicians and its concerns about the sustainability of insurance plans.
