Global Affairs Canada undertook a general review of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP) to evaluate the performance of the Agreement with a view to updating and enhancing it to ensure that it remains of the highest possible standard for trade agreements. The CLHIA is a strong supporter of the CPTPP. We welcome the growth of the CPTPP into any new member economies, provided the new member is able to meet the high standards of the Agreement. We also urged the Canadian government to ratify the UK’s accession into the Agreement as soon as possible.
