The Canadian Life and Health Insurance Association is a voluntary association with member companies which account for 99 per cent of Canada’s life and health insurance business. In Canada, for calendar year 2016, the life and health insurance industry made payments of more than $32 billion on health services for 25 million individuals covered by private plans. These plans help ensure residents have access to needed health care. We appreciate the opportunity to provide our feedback in response to Health Canada’s consultation on the Proposed Approach to the Regulation of Cannabis.
