Financial Consumer Agency of Canada – Update from the Workplace Financial Literacy Working Group

by: CLHIA Staff

The CLHIA is participating on behalf of the industry in a working group focused on financial literacy in the workplace. The initiative is focused on helping working Canadians budget and manage money and debt; save and plan for the future; and, know their rights and responsibilities.

The workplace working group is tasked with developing a best practices framework for financial literacy in the workplace and with the dissemination of the framework to employers across Canada. We’re hoping that member companies will engage with us by either offering to host a pilot lunch and learn at their workplace or identifying another employer who might be interested.

The FCAC will provide the material for the pilot and the professional facilitator to run the pilot. The participant organizations just need to organize and promote a lunch and learn session. The pilots would run over about an hour and require very little preparation time. The participating organizations must agree to do an evaluation after the session has been completed.

If you think you are able to participate please contact Susan Murray or Sarah Hobbs at CLHIA at smurray@clhia.ca or shobbs@clhia.ca
